Description:
This eye-catching, dwarf form of conifer is a new variety of deodar cedar found in Holland. This evergreen, slow-growing, low shrub will grow 1,5m high and can spread 3m. With wide spreading branches it makes a lovely horizontal specimen or ground cover plant. Ideal cascader for rock gardens, suitable for growing in containers as well. It can be staked as column forming an elegant weeping shrub or small tree. It has blue-green persistent needles, densely born on drooping branches. The cedar grows well in any well drained soil type even chalky, but will thrive in moist conditions. The pH preference is acidic to neutral soil. Recommended planting in sun or light shade, in places protected from strong winds. Grows in temperature zones 6-9 and therefore can be grown successfully on whole territory of Middle Europe with exception of coldest mountain areas.
